We grow by learning. But when we learn we must make mistakes.

I feel like in society and in school, there is a sense of disapproval if we fail an assignment or don’t create a completely original startup idea.

We find ourselves vulnerable to influence from others. And when this happens, we are not human, we are servants. Controlled by others and never to make our own decisions.

Allow yourself to get influence but not to the point of dedication

These days there are people everywhere who are trying to change our actions and opinions. …

If you don’t say no to the things that really don’t matter to you, your life will be a mess and you will be stretched too thin.

One day you will wake up and realize that you have too much going on.

You are too busy.

In America, busyness has become a good thing that we should all strive for. But is it really?

If you become too busy you feel overwhelmed and eventually, your focus scatters. And without focus, you will fail.

The book by Cal Newport called Deep Work states:

High-Quality Work Produced = (Time Spent) x (Intensity…

We all have ambitious goals, but only a few succeed. Using the 0.01 rule will allow you to achieve these goals.

Big goals don’t come in a matter of days or weeks. They come with time and dedication for months or years.

For example:

  • You can’t just start working out and a week later, expecting that you are ripped.
  • You can’t be a good writer unless you have published hundreds of posts.

My point is that you don’t learn anything instantly, you have to spend lots of time working at it. And then, will you achieve your goals.

Minor improvements → big achievements.

You can use math to prove that this is true.

If you…

. . . and why you probably shouldn’t either

Sleep is the most important if you want to feel energetic and motivated the next day. Without it, your life will suffer.

Studies show that a normal adult should have around 7–9 hours of sleep. So this means if you want to wake up at 4 in the morning, you will have to sleep at 7–9 pm. This for me is way too early to sleep, but even if you can deal with this, you will lose precious time with your loved ones.

Get your work done.

You will never have infinite motivation. Motivation comes in a sprint, not in a jog.

Procrastination can’t be defeated only worked around

We all procrastinate.

It could be with work or with your hobbies. Whatever it is, you start with huge amounts of motivation. But as time goes on, you will fall back into the darkness. Never to finish what you started.

What’s the answer then?

Maybe discipline.

Discipline has to be worked on. The more you work on it, the better you get at it. It will be like learning anything. You will still need the motivation to build that discipline.

You could have a really…

Applying these rules will allow you to get a good night's rest and start out feeling fresh.

Do you ever wake up wanting to get work done, but then mope around and get nothing done?

If this has ever happened to you, you are likely to do things wrong before bed. And as a result, don’t get good enough sleep.

You don’t ever want to wake up with a foggy mind with a deadline to meet.

Tim Roth once said:

Doing the wrong things before you go to sleep will set you up for an inefficient next day. …

Your life is probably filled with changing things that can disappear in the blink of an eye.

We always think about what to buy, what to use our money with. While these things make us feel good, they can disappear. Money can burn, your things can be stolen, but one thing that can’t be stolen or burned is your knowledge and your skills.

This is why you should focus on what you can do to get better and things that can’t be taken away from you. Your skills and your knowledge are indispensable and you can’t live without them. They can bring you up from the possible death and help you through the toughest of times.

Whether you know it or not, you have a bad habit.

Most don’t know the way you create habits. They are created when you need something or want something and your brain thinks, “try this.” Then you try it and you get a reward, in dopamine or another way, but you get a reward. Your brain then remembers it and keeps it in the back of your mind and then whenever you feel the same way, you will do it.

For example, if you see the “cool” people drinking and smoking, you then want to be cool, so you then drink and smoke and feel good (at that moment). …

Success isn’t luck, it’s the ability to work on a task for as long as it is needed to master.

Successful people aren’t successful, but persistent. You probably have compared yourself to someone else. You think about how they are so much better than me. And after a few months, they reach their destination.

You’ll get run over by people who try.

Instead of comparing skills, compare the amount of time you spent compared to them. They are either more talented or you spend less time.

All skills take time and it’s different for all people.

Don’t compare your skill to others, but compare the amount of time you spend. …

To-do lists have the power to alleviate all the stress from you but can also make you more stressed.

I would recommend you use a to-do list. Because they can help you keep track of anything to get done and what you have already done.

For example, when I have a lot of tasks due soon, I would constantly check if I had finished the tasks. So checklists and to-do lists help with making sure that you get something done. Because when you finish a task you can be sure that you checked it off and finished it.

All these things are great, but there are downsides. …
